Lasers have been around for a long time and SMART-Lipolysis has gained great popularity in cosmetic surgery providing specific advantages over other methods.

The technique involves the use of lasers of specific wave-lenths that target fat and water in the body. 

Using this method, a specific temperature is reached where the fatty deposits become slushy and can be easily suctioned out of the affected areas.  An added benefit of this laser technology is that is has demonstrated improved skin retraction and tightening after the liposuction, thereby enhancing the newly shaped contours.  Very often, this laser technology is also used in conjunction with other methods to improve the success of the liposuction by adding this extra degree of tightening that is often desired.
